SAN FRANCISCO: Twitter has introduced a new change for its 316-million active users. The 140 character limit for Direct Messages has been removed according to blog on their website.
The blog written by Twitter’s Product Manager for Direct Messages, Sachin Agarwal states that in that the new change which was rolled out on Wednesday “is another big step towards making the private side of Twitter even more powerful and fun.”
Tweets will continue to have the 140 character limit as will Direct Messages sent via SMS but users accessing Twitter from the web, Android or iOS will be exempt from the limit when sending Direct Messages.
Twitter does advise that users upgrade to the latest version of the applications to get the update.
